Vanity renders with basins, not sinks.
Set the project to Vanity, Ensuite or Powder room and Asterlyn Space offers basins where a kitchen gets bowls and drainers, and a strip light behind the mirror. The runs are named for what a vanity has, with no island or oven tower.

What the app asks about in a vanity.
- Room types
- Vanity, Ensuite and Powder room. All three get the same runs, basins and lights.
- Runs
- Overheads (upper cabinets), base cabinets, tall cabinets, open shelving, blank panels and end panels, each with its own colour.
- Not offered
- An island, an oven tower or a cabinet above a fridge space.
- Basins
- Above-counter, undermount, inset (drop-in), semi-recessed, integrated (moulded into the top), or twin basins.
- Splashback
- Opens on a full splashback (backsplash) behind the vanity top once the drawing shows it. No splashback is one click away in Fixtures.
- Strip lights
- Behind the mirror, under the overhead cabinets, under open floating shelves, and under the base cabinets.
- Photoshoot
- A floor mat, folded towels, a soap dispenser and a small plant by default. A timber stool, a bottle tray, candles, a tray by the basin, a toothbrush cup and wall art if you tick them.
Say what the basin is.
Six basin types.
Review detections lists every sink and appliance found on your drawing. On a vanity, a sink is offered the basin types:
- above-counter basin, sitting on the top
- undermount basin, under the top
- inset (drop-in) basin
- semi-recessed basin
- integrated basin, moulded into the top
- twin basins
A kitchen's bowls and drainers aren't in the list, because they don't belong on a vanity. A wrong label renders as the wrong thing, so it's worth the few seconds to confirm the basin or pick the right one.
The top and the splashback.
The benchtop (countertop) picker takes a stone from your library, a cabinet colour for a top that matches the doors, or a supplier swatch you paste in. On the top, the pasted picture is kept for the project and sent to the render, so a patterned stone comes back as a close likeness of the one you pasted.
The splashback follows the top. Once the drawing shows the vanity top, the project opens on a full splashback behind it. If the wall is tiled floor to ceiling or painted right down to the top, set No splashback in the Fixtures panel and choose the wall finish instead. If the reading missed the top, a banner says so before you render and suggests drawing a zone for it.

Four places a vanity is lit.
A vanity, ensuite or powder room is offered strip lights in these places:
- Behind the mirror. It glows onto the wall and lights the face at the basin.
- Under the overhead cabinets, lighting the splashback and the top.
- Under open floating shelves, washing down the wall below each shelf.
- Under the base cabinets, shining down the kickboard (toe kick) and out across the floor.
Tick more than one and they go on in a single pass. Colour temperature is Warm (3000K), Neutral (4000K) or Cool (6000K).
Mirrors on the drawing.
If your drawing fills a mirror or a glass panel in flat pale blue, that fill is treated as shorthand for a reflecting or see-through surface, not a colour. The render is told to draw the mirror and leave the blue out.

Choose it when you create the project. On a sheet with several drawings, one captioned vanity, ensuite or powder room takes that room for you, and one captioned bathroom is read as a vanity.
Name the basin in review
Open Review detections. A sink on a vanity is offered the basin types, so you can say it sits above the counter or is moulded into the top.
Set the colours
A colour for the base cabinets and the overheads, a top from your library or a pasted supplier swatch, and the splashback.
Light it and render
Tick the mirror light, pick a colour temperature, and render. Fix any part that is wrong by marking it, rather than rendering again from scratch.
