Outdoor kitchen and bar renders.
An outdoor kitchen is a kitchen in every respect but the walls. Set the project to Outdoor kitchen / BBQ and Asterlyn Space keeps the kitchen's runs and cooking, names the BBQ, and doesn't build a room around the run. A bar gets a benchtop (countertop) run, bar fridges and a light under the counter overhang.

What the app asks about outdoors.
- Room type
- Outdoor kitchen / BBQ. On a sheet with several drawings, a caption that says outdoor kitchen, alfresco or BBQ sets it for you.
- Runs
- The full kitchen set: overheads (upper cabinets), base cabinets, island or peninsula, tall cabinets, oven tower, fridge cabinet, open shelving and the island panels and ends.
- Cooking
- Assumed, the same as a kitchen: the cooktop and rangehood settings apply.
- BBQ
- Named as its own appliance, so the render is told a BBQ bay in the benchtop is a BBQ and a sink beside it is a sink.
- Splashback
- None. Outdoors the surface behind the benchtop stays as drawn, and the render isn't asked to tile it.
- Around the joinery
- Blank paper past the ends of the run is rendered as open outdoor space, not a room built around it. A wall or screen you did draw stays.
- Strip lights

The runs and the BBQ.
An outdoor kitchen keeps every run a kitchen has, the island included, and each takes its own colour. The cooktop and rangehood settings in the Fixtures panel apply, so a gas cooktop or a canopy rangehood is declared the same way as indoors.
The BBQ is named as its own appliance. The render is told that a BBQ bay let into the benchtop is a BBQ, not a large sink, and that a basin with a tap beside it stays a sink. A wok burner beside the BBQ keeps the cooktop rules. If the reading got any of them wrong, correct it in Review detections before you render.
No splashback, no walls you didn't draw.
Outside there's usually no wall to tile. The run backs onto a post, a screen or the yard. So an outdoor kitchen has no splashback (backsplash): the surface behind the benchtop stays as your drawing shows it.
Where the drawing leaves blank paper past the ends of the joinery or above it, the render is told to show open outdoor space, not walls closed in around the run. A wall, window or screen that your drawing does show is kept as drawn.
Staged as an alfresco.
The photoshoot pass follows the room. An outdoor kitchen is staged as an alfresco: an outdoor dining setting, potted plants, a serving platter and a folded towel. An outdoor rug, lanterns, barbecue tools and festoon lights are there if you tick them. The pass may shift the picture, so it arrives beside your render as a new version.

Runs and splashback.
A bar is a benchtop run with overheads, base cabinets, a tall run and open shelving, each with its own colour. There's no island, oven tower or fridge cabinet, and no cooking is assumed. If the drawing shows a cooktop, the cooktop rules come back on for it.
A bar opens on a full splashback behind the bench. Turn it off in the Fixtures panel if yours doesn't have one.
Bar fridges, solid or glass.
In Review detections, name each fridge for what it is: a bar fridge with a solid door, a bar fridge with a glass door, or a wine fridge. The door is the whole difference in a picture. A glass door shows its shelves and bottles; a solid one is a plain door that reads as a cupboard unless you say otherwise. You can add a photo of the actual fridge too, and it's sent with the render.
Lighting and staging a bar.
A bar is offered a strip under the counter overhang, washing down its front and out across the floor, as well as the lights under the overhead cabinets, under open floating shelves, under the base cabinets and inside glass cabinets. Tick more than one and they go on in a single pass.
Dressing can fill the glass cabinets with glassware and the wine rack with bottles. The photoshoot pass stages a bar with bottles and glassware, stools, a small tray, a tall plant, wall art and pendant lights, with a cocktail set, a decanter, a bowl of citrus and a rug if you tick them.
