Butler's pantry, scullery and pantry renders.
Set the project to Butler's pantry, Scullery or Pantry and Asterlyn Space treats it as a benchtop (countertop) run with no island and no cooking assumed. Overheads (upper cabinets), bases, tall cabinets and shelving each take their own colour.
This page does not yet show a tested, approved butler's pantry render. The placeholder below must be replaced with one before promotion.

What the app asks about in a pantry.
- Room types
- Butler's pantry, Scullery and Pantry. All three behave the same way in the app.
- Runs
- Overheads, base cabinets, tall cabinets, open shelving, blank panels and end panels, each with its own colour.
- Not offered
- An island, an oven tower or a cabinet above a fridge space.
- Benchtop
- Expected. A benchtop run against a wall is what these rooms are built around.
- Splashback
- Opens on a full splashback (backsplash). Switch to No splashback in Fixtures if the wall runs straight down to the bench.
- Cooking
- Not assumed. The cooktop and rangehood rules only come in where the drawing shows a cooktop or a rangehood.
- Sinks
- The kitchen list: single, double or one and a half bowl, with or without drainers, undermount, or a butler sink.
- Strip lights
- Under the overhead cabinets, under open floating shelves, under the base cabinets, and inside glass cabinets.
A kitchen's runs, less the island and the towers.
What a pantry keeps.
A butler's pantry is built like a kitchen run: overheads on the wall, base cabinets under a benchtop, a tall run, and often open shelving. Those keep their kitchen names and each gets its own colour.
The island, the oven tower and the cabinet above the fridge are left out, and the render isn't told about them. The blank faces at the end of the bench are called blank panels and end panels, not breakfast bar panels.
The splashback opens on full, the same as a kitchen, because a pantry bench against a wall usually has one. Set it to No splashback in the Fixtures panel if yours doesn't.
No cooking assumed.
A pantry and a scullery are built with a benchtop and no cooking on it, so they aren't given the cooktop and rangehood rules by default. The drawing switches them back on: where it shows a cooktop or a rangehood, those rules apply, so a scullery with a second cooktop loses nothing.
When a drawing shows a cooktop or an oven on a room set to pantry, the studio flags it and asks whether the room is right. If it's a butler's pantry with a cooktop in it, leave the room as it is.
The parts a pantry is about.
Sinks and appliances.
A pantry sink is offered the kitchen list in Review detections: single, double or one and a half bowl, with or without drainers, undermount, or a butler sink. Any appliance the drawing shows can be confirmed or corrected there, and a photo of the real one can go with the render. The dishwasher type is always your choice in Fixtures, because an integrated one is drawn just like the cupboard beside it.
Lighting and dressing.
A pantry is offered the kitchen's four strip light places: under the overhead cabinets, under open floating shelves, under the base cabinets shining down the kickboard (toe kick), and inside glass cabinets.
Dressing is a set of ticks: glass cabinets filled with plates and glassware, bottles in the wine rack, a few things on the open shelves, things on the benchtop and a tap (faucet) on the sink. The photoshoot pass offers a pantry the same list as a kitchen, so a coffee machine, or a kettle and toaster, on the bench is a tick away.

Rendering a butler's pantry.
Give the pantry its own project
Pick Butler's pantry, Scullery or Pantry when you create it. If the pantry is on the same sheet as the kitchen, upload the sheet once: each drawing becomes its own project and takes its room from the caption under it.
Match it to the kitchen
Use the same materials from your library as the kitchen project, or pick a different finish for the pantry. Each run has its own picker.
Confirm the sink and the appliances
In Review detections, confirm the sink or pick what it really is, and name any dishwasher, microwave, fridge or wine fridge the drawing shows.
Light it, dress it, render
Tick the glass cabinet and shelf lights, fill the wine rack or the glass cabinets if the drawing has them, and render.
